A step-by-step pelvic floor training and recovery plan designed to support you through pregnancy, labour and your first 3 months postpartum – so you can birth confidently, recover smoothly, and return to the life you love without pelvic floor symptoms holding you back.

You wouldn’t show up to the start line of a marathon without having trained — and birth is no different.
In Step 1, we train your pelvic floor during pregnancy for the demands of labour — giving you the best chance of a smooth birth and healing journey.
Even the most trained athlete can get injured if they don’t run smart.
In Step 2, we plan your race strategy — teaching you how to navigate labour effectively while protecting your pelvic floor from unnecessary strain.
“Just listen to your body” leaves too many postpartum mamas guessing — and without a clear roadmap, setbacks are common.
In Step 3, we replace the guesswork with a clear step-by-step recovery plan so you can heal smoothly, move confidently, and focus on what matters most in this season.

Sophie Villeneuve is a Canadian-based pelvic health physiotherapist in maternity care.
Since 2015, Sophie has helped over a thousand mamas feel confident in the birth room and return to the life they love postpartum without pelvic health symptoms in the way.
The Beyond Birthing Signature Program is rooted in the same evidence-based approach she brings to her clinical practice — giving you access to the same level of expertise, wherever you are in the world.
My postpartum #2 was a complete 180. All those exercises I did in the course paid off — I know that’s why my pelvic floor didn’t feel so heavy and I didn’t have as much pain as after my first. Three months postpartum, my body feels great. It literally is life changing.
I spent about the same amount on your courses as I did on pelvic physios after my first daughter was born. In-person appointments — there was only so much I could absorb each time. I get way more knowledge from your course. You can’t even compare. I never pictured myself as being this confident postpartum in my own body. That has made a world of difference.
I ask a lot of my body — the year before giving birth I was training for a half marathon and a CrossFit competition. Five months postpartum, I’ve gone back to essentially every activity with no symptoms. My pelvic floor and core are as strong or stronger than before. I definitely credit that to the Beyond Birthing program.
My birth plan didn’t go according to plan, but because I had the education and tools from the program, I navigated the changes without becoming overwhelmed. When they asked me to slow down during pushing, I knew exactly what to do — and I think that really avoided more tearing. At five weeks postpartum, I’m out for walks and carrying my baby without getting sore. I definitely credit that to the Beyond Birthing program.
I had no tear when I gave birth and was back to running after three months. My partner and I practiced the exercises together and used them during birth. I’m highly confident the program made a huge difference.
I only had superficial tearing — I felt really fortunate. My husband felt so much more involved than he anticipated and now tells his buddies with pregnant wives: you need to check out Beyond Birthing’s Program. At 6 months postpartum, I’m 100% back to cross-country skiing, biking and HIIT workouts.
Four months postpartum, I’ve reintroduced all the activities I was doing before — skiing, mountain biking, hiking, running. The program gave me the tools to cope with whatever situation I found myself in, even when things didn’t go exactly how I wanted. And postpartum, having those guardrails — week one here’s what you can do, week two here’s what you can do — instead of just trying to navigate the world of information online. I think I might have gone too hard or tried to do things too quickly without it.
I had very little tearing despite some challenges during the final pushing stage — I am 100% sure that’s because of the preparation we did through the program. Seven and a half months postpartum, I’m back to yoga and long walks with no issues whatsoever. The results speak for themselves.
I had an emergency C-section under general anesthesia — things did not go as planned at all. But I followed the program to a T, and at 18 weeks postpartum I feel pretty much back to normal. The Beyond Birthing program prepared me to advocate for myself, make informed decisions under pressure, and know exactly what to do for my recovery. I don’t think that’s something you can prepare for unless you have the right tools going in.
My birth was very quick — which I feel had to do with preparing my body. I did have a significant tear but within two months all symptoms were gone and my tear healed beautifully. At 6 months postpartum, I feel basically like I did prior to pregnancy — no bladder, bowel, or prolapse symptoms, and back to running.
I went into pregnancy terrified I’d end up like the women in my family who never recovered. Working with Sophie in her Signature Program gave me the knowledge, the techniques, and the confidence I needed. Eight weeks postpartum, all my symptoms are gone and I’m back to everything I did before.
Not all hospitals have the best, latest practices — so having access to evidence-based information from the program really made a huge difference. If you cannot advocate for yourself and you cannot prepare, you can end up in a rough spot unnecessarily. Even with an emergency C-section, I’m really happy to have understood everything that was going on and had the tools to manage the pain during labour.
I am so happy I made the leap to join the Beyond Birthing program. When things did not go as I wished in my birthing plan, Sophie was there to coach me through it. I’m now inspired to be stronger postpartum than I was before pregnancy.
After a traumatic first birth, I was terrified of going through it again. After working with Sophie in her Signature Program, my second birth was four pushes, no pain medication, and I was showering 20 minutes later. I felt like I could run a marathon right after birth.

We accept mamas from 12 weeks up to 30 weeks of pregnancy. Starting in this window gives you enough time to work through the full program and give yourself the best possible chance of success.
If you are still in your first trimester and interested in the program, we’d love to hear from you! Simply fill out the discovery call form and we will reach out to suggest a day & time closer to your 12-weeks mark.
Absolutely — and we strongly encourage it if you have one. Birth is a team effort and the program includes content specifically designed for partners, covering how to support you during labour, understand your recovery, and be an active part of the process. The more involved your partner is, the better prepared and empowered you will both be.
That said, the program is equally valuable if you are going through this journey on your own — you will have everything you need to feel fully prepared and supported.
Absolutely — the program includes personalized support and direct access to Sophie, so you are never left guessing and always have what you need to keep moving forward.
For local mamas in Whitehorse, we can combine the program with in-person support. For mamas joining us from elsewhere in the world, we meet virtually.
Think of it as a virtual cup of tea — a free 45-minute Zoom chat where we get to know you and hear about your goals and needs for your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey.
From there, we’ll figure out together whether the program is the right fit for you and discuss your next best step.
If you have a birth partner, we strongly recommend they join — so they can share their thoughts, ask their questions, and be on the same page about the plan from the very start.
If you don’t see a time that works for you in our online booking system, simply reach out to us directly and we will do our best to find a time that suits your schedule.
